The impact of a stroke will vary from person to person. Often, the support of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists will be required to relearn skills. The Stroke Association guide to understanding stroke recovery https://www.stroke.org.uk/stroke/recovery states that “The quickest recovery takes place in the days and weeks after a stroke. But recovery can continue for months and years after a stroke.” Hilton Home Care can support you in the exercise programme set by hospital or community therapists.
At Hilton, we have significant experience of supporting people in their stroke recovery. In some cases, this is short term support focussed solely recovery, and in other cases we provide longer term and more wide ranging support. We can provide intensive short term support, including nights, when required. We recognise that the support you require may be greater following discharge from hospital than over the following weeks or months. We have carers who have been trained as therapy assistants and can support your therapy programme.
